What we Believe

The Bible is the church's doctrine, but the following main points are given in order to show the most important foundational truths in the church's faith and teaching:

a) The Bible
We believe the whole Bible is God's living and infallible Word, and the divine rule for life and doctrine.

b) God
We believe in one God, the Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

c) Salvation and eternal life
We believe that Jesus, God's son, is the only way to salvation and eternal life. Salvation is available through the death and resurrection of Jesus for the sin and guilt of all men. A person is born again and justified by believing in his heart that God resurrected Jesus from the dead, and by confessing him as Lord in his life. (Rom 10:9-10). According to the Bible there are two possible ends to this life; eternal life with God, or an eternity apart from God.

d) Baptism in water
We preach and practice "the baptism of faith", and we believe that all born-again Christians are to be baptized into Christ Jesus in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The baptism is done by full immersion in water, after the person has come to believe in Jesus. When we are baptized, we bury our old life, and are raised up (resurrected) into a brand new life in Jesus.

e) The church
We believe all Christians are one and a part of God's universal church. However, all Christians need also find their place in a local church, a spiritual home, where they can be cared for (shepherded), be included into a fellowship, receive teaching, grow in the faith, develop their ministry and move into God's plan for their lives.

f) The Holy Spirit
We believe all Christians can be baptized in the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues, as the first Christians experienced it and describes it in the book of Acts. The Holy Spirit also wants every believer to function in the gifts of the Spirit, and to lead them into ministry.

g) Sanctification and the fruit of the Spirit
God has called all Christians to live a holy life. Sanctification is a work of God, that by grace brings out the fruits of the Spirit and holiness.

h) Healing and restoration
We believe that by Jesus work of reconciliation, God has given us healing from all sickness. Reconciliation includes restoration for the whole person; spirit, soul and body.

i) God's blessing and care
We believe that God is a good God who care about all aspects of life. God blesses us materially and economically, and the foundation for this is Jesus' reconciliation, and the biblical teaching about tithing and giving.

j) Jesus' return and the end time
We believe that Jesus will come back and that His return will happen in two stages. First he will come again to receive his church in the clouds of heaven. This is called the rapture. Later he will place his feet on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem where he will reign on the earth for 1000 years. Thereafter the judgment will take place, and there will be a new heaven and a new earth.

THE WAY TO GOD

There are many religions in the world, and all of them do their best to find the way to God. The common element in every religion is that we must do something to be saved and find the way to God. We have to do good works, pray special prayers and follow different rituals. The result is that none of us are good enough, and life becomes something we strive to manage.

The gospel is the good news of what Jesus has done for you. Jesus took everyone's sin, guilt and punishment on himself and opened the way to God. Religion is man's way to God, but Jesus is God's way to man. No religion can save or give you eternal life, only Jesus can!

Maybe you have heard of what we call «the little Bible»: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life» (John 3:16)

Jesus says: "I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except by me» (John 14:6)

He is the simple way to God that we find in the Bible:

1. God loves you! God made man in his image, perfect and harmonious. The plan was that man should live in a close relationship with God, our good father in heaven.

2. Sin separated man from God. When the first humans turned in disobediance away from God, sin entered the world and mankind. The consequence of this was that the relationship with God was broken. Sin means «to miss the mark».

3. Jesus is God's answer. God sent his son, Jesus Christ, and by his death and resurrection , Jesus paid for sin and its negative consequences. From God's side the broken relationship is therefore restored.

4. Receive Him as your saviour and Lord. The only thing a person needs to do to be saved, is to receive Jesus as their saviour and Lord. Salvation is quite simply a gift! It is not a question of doing, but receiving what is already done. The relationship with God, our Father is then restored. The Holy Spirit takes up residence within you, and a new life begins. I recommend that you pray this simple prayer, and in this way welcome Jesus into your life:

Dear Father in heaven. Thank you for sending Jesus to forgive all my sin, and give me a new life. Jesus, I receive you as my saviour and Lord, and welcome you into my life. From now on, I will live my life for you. Thank you that you have saved me now!

Listen to what the Bible says: "But as many as received Him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, those who believe in His name" (John 1:12).

"For if you confess the Lord Jesus with you mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

You can now boldly claim: I have received Jesus Christ as my saviour and Lord, and I want to life for God and serve Him the rest of my life.
