Building Campaign

Dear friend,
On June 9th, 2025, we launched the Building Campaign – an initiative to optimize and maintain Karismakirken in step with the growth we are experiencing.

Karismakirken is a multi-generational congregation with many nationalities – full of life. Our main hall is often more than 80% full, and our children’s ministry, with up to 90 kids, continues to grow. We are deeply grateful for what God is doing among us, and we want to create more space for people seeking community and faith.

Thirty years ago, many contributed generously towards the construction of the church, which was completed in 1994. The building extension and gym hall were finished in 2006. Today, we stand on their shoulders, grateful for the sacrifices that made this possible. Three decades later, we are still here – stronger than ever.

Every generation will experience once or twice in their lifetime that the church needs to make an extra financial effort. We want to prepare for the church of today, which is growing, and for the next generation of leaders who will one day take over. For this to succeed, we need a wide personal involvement from our members and from others who wish to contribute.

We want to pay the price now, not pass the bill on to our children!

A Growing Church!

New people are continually finding their way to Karismakirken!
For this reason, we need to expand and optimize our facilities for children and young people, as well as our café and main hall.
We highly value continually making room for new people in our community!
We want to ensure that children and young people have enough space in functional, spacious rooms.
We want every generation to feel at home in a new, upgraded, and larger café.
We aim to have a modern main hall that can accommodate many people.
We need to take decisive action now – not only for our current situation, but also for the generations to come.

Our goal is to have a church building that will be a great blessing to our region and local community.

More Space for Children and Young People

Karismakirken is a multi-generational church with a special focus on the younger generation.
It is absolutely vital that our children and young ones thrive!

Café and Community

Creating a warm and welcoming community is a high priority for Karismakirken.
That’s why a good and spacious café is such an important part of what we do.

Modern Main Hall and Stage

We want to upgrade our main hall with new chairs that provide comfortable seating for many people.
The ceiling and walls will be repainted, the stage expanded, and there will be improved technical solutions throughout.

Optimization and Maintenance

Optimization means making better use of our interior space so that we can welcome more people and create an inviting, pleasant atmosphere.
Maintenance speaks for itself; the building naturally experiences wear and tear over time.
Karismakirken should be a great place to be. We want to take good care of what we have been given, ensuring that future generations inherit a church in excellent condition.

What Will it Cost?

We are evaluating several possible solutions together with professional advisors.
Depending on which plan is chosen, the total project cost will approach 20 million Norwegian kroner.

The final result that can be achieved will depend on how much we can raise together.
We do not wish to increase our overall debt.

If we raise more than needed for the investment, we plan to use the surplus to pay down existing debt.
