I feel so strongly in my spirit that as we continue our walk with God this season, there is a need for us to build strong relationships. God is interested in our relationships; the way we relate to one another is very important to God. "Can two walk together, unless they agree?" Amos 3:3. Strong relationships must be developed in the house of God because the church is a home where children relate to one another as in a family.

Building the church is not an event, but a journey of faith.

The relationship between Elijah and Elisha started as a master-servant relationship and ended as a father-son relationship. Elisha became Elijah's spiritual son (2 Kings

2:12). When Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah's anointing, he was told he asked for a hard thing. He had to walk with Elijah and prove himself faithful, and be there to see Elijah being taken up to heaven. Only then was he given what he had asked for - a double portion of the anointing.

In 2Kings 2:1-12 Elijah and Elisha walked through Gilgal, Bethel, and Jericho to Jordan. This story represents some of the phases a church goes through, and there are a few things that we as a church can learn:

Gilgal is a site that reminds us of new beginnings;

- First camping site for the Israelites after crossing the Jordan to conquer Canaan (Joshua 4:19-20).

- Here the children of Israel celebrated their first Passover in the Promised Land.

- The manna ceased at this place and the children of Israel tasted the produce of the land they were about to possess.

- This is where Saul was made a king

- This is where Elijah meets Elisha

Bethel was known as a site of learning, teachings and worship;

- This is where Jacob had his vision of the ladder (revelation, visions and dreams)

- Abraham built several altars here

Jericho; a place of demolishing walls

Here the church needs stable and strong people

Jordan; a place of victories, a place of crossing over and breakthroughs

This reflects how the church experiences God's power. After walking with God, He entrusts us with His power to do the work of the ministry in His anointing and to experience breakthroughs.

In the church we need to stand together, develop strong relationships and support each other so that together we can walk with God and experience the fullness of what he has for us.
